If you’re searching for anxiety therapy, you’re likely overwhelmed, stuck in thinking mode, and exhausted from holding everything together. Have no fear—you’re in a safe space. I’m Dr. Beatriz Mann, an experienced anxiety therapist providing online therapy in Florida and all PSYPACT states. I’ve made it my mission to support high-achieving individuals in St. Petersburg and beyond who look like they have it together but don’t feel like it on the inside.

When Is It a Good Idea to See a Therapist for Anxiety?

If worry is taking up a lot of mental space, interfering with your relationships, making it difficult to relax, or keeping you from enjoying things that should feel good, it may be worth considering counseling for anxiety. Maybe you're constantly anticipating what could go wrong, replaying conversations in your head, avoiding situations that make you uncomfortable, or putting enormous pressure on yourself to get everything right.

I work with plenty of people whose anxiety isn't obvious from the outside, too. You may be successful and dependable, keeping all the plates spinning while internally feeling like you're one dropped responsibility away from everything falling apart. Anxiety can also coexist with a number of other concerns. If you're having trouble figuring out where one issue ends and another begins, we can work through those symptoms together.

Types of Therapy for Anxiety

Anxiety treatment varies, with the types of therapy used for anxiety changing depending on a person’s specific symptoms and a provider’s areas of expertise. My job is to understand what's driving your anxiety and choose an evidence-based approach that makes sense for your symptoms, coping style, and goals.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one approach I frequently use for anxiety. CBT helps us examine the connections between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, identify patterns that reinforce anxiety, and practice more useful ways of responding.

For anxiety related to obsessive-compulsive disorder, I also have training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). ERP helps you gradually face anxiety-provoking triggers while reducing the compulsive responses that keep the anxiety cycle going.

I specialize in Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT). This approach can be useful when your anxiety manifests in an overcontrolled coping style, such as excessive self-control, rigidity, emotional inhibition, or maladaptive perfectionism. We'll work toward understanding what's underneath your anxiety and developing skills that help you respond differently—not simply telling you to "stop worrying."

Does This Sound Like You?

Many of the people I see don’t fit neatly into one category. You might feel anxious, but also burned out, distracted, or struggling with past trauma or your relationship with food. My approach to anxiety counseling is designed around who you are rather than forcing you into a box. I work with clients navigating generalized anxiety, social anxiety, perfectionism, and that constant internal pressure to do more, be more, and never slow down.

Here’s What Anxiety Therapy With Me Looks Like

Whether your anxiety shows up as constant worry, avoidance, or a relentless inner critic, we can help you feel more grounded, present, and at ease in your life. My goal with anxiety therapy will be to:

  • Understand what’s happening in your brain and body
  • Get to the root cause of your anxious thoughts
  • Find coping strategies that work for you

While I draw from neuropsychology and use evidence-based therapies, I don’t believe therapy should be clinical or stiff. I don't believe therapy should look like the movies, where the therapist just said "and how did that make you feel?" the whole session! Instead, I bring curiosity, honesty, and humor into the process, creating a space that can feel playful and familiar as you're supported and challenged in all the best ways.
